After all the wild winds we’ve been feeling lately — both in the weather and in life — this week’s new class invites you to slow down, steady yourself, and reconnect with the grounding energy of the Earth.
In the Ayurvedic tradition, the ancient sister science of yoga, the wind and air elements are associated with vata dosha — the energy of movement and change. When vata becomes excessive, we might feel ungrounded, anxious, scattered, or unable to focus. Too much wind in the environment can amplify these sensations, leaving us feeling a little “up in the air.”
This new class, Grounding with the Element of Earth, is designed as an antidote to that light and restless vata energy. Through slow, deliberate movement and deep, steady breath, we return to the body and its natural connection with the Earth.
We move through shapes that cultivate stability and calm — Mountain Pose, Wide-legged Child’s Pose, and Tree Pose — postures that strengthen the legs, open the hips, and root the body to the ground. Each pose invites you to feel the weight of your body as a source of safety and belonging, rather than heaviness.
We use yoga for nourishment and calm — helping to settle the nervous system and soothe the winds of the mind. This is a practice for slowing down, for drawing energy inward, and transformation by grounding into the present moment.
You might like to hold this simple affirmation as you move and breathe:
“I am safe. I am supported. I am grounded. I belong here.”
May this class help you root down into your strength, reconnect with the steady rhythm of your own breath, and carry the stability of the Earth with you — no matter how strong the winds blow.
The class is now live on the platform and available to:
